Vital

Vital Power successfully tendered and won a framework Agreement with Metronet for Electrical works and Minor Civil works in January 2009.

Vital were one of 40+ companies to be selected in the bidding process, which resulted in ten contractors being awarded a framework.

The agreement is for a period of 3 years with an option to extend. With 3.5 Million journeys each weekday and more than 1 Billion each year the London Underground requires constant updating, repair and maintenance. Vital will play a key role in delivering the projects to Metronet.

Metronet Rail is responsible for upgrading, replacing and maintaining two-thirds of the London Underground, including trains, stations, signalling, track, tunnels, bridges and other related infrastructure.

This is set out in a PPP service contract with London Underground, which retains responsibility for running the Tube, including operating trains and stations, collecting fares and public safety. Lines Included in Metronet’s network are:

·          Bakerloo Line
·          Central Line
·          Circle Line
·          District Line
·          Hammersmith & City
·          Metropolitan Line
·          Victoria Line
·          Waterloo and City

The majority of the work will focus on cable management systems, Power upgrades, Earthing surveys and signalling immunisation on the sub surface lines (SSL).
